Looking for a Gift To Give This Holiday Season?
Julie and Ed Caracappa moved to Cape Coral from Austin, Texas. About a year and a half ago they opened Wild About Popcorn in the Cape. Since the Caracappas live in Cape Coral, they wanted their business to be local and provide an experience rather than just a place where you can "buy things."
The store and Kitchen are open 7 days a week (10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday-Friday; 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday; and 12 to 5 p.m., Sunday) and people come in to sample the popcorn, watch it pop and buy some to take home or give as a gift. Everything they make is fresh from their own original recipes. They wanted to offer original delicious treats to the local community and beyond.
Wild About Popcorn is located at 1311 Del Prado Blvd. S, Suite D, and you can also purchase gluten-free and vegan popcorn.
They have over 60 flavors. Right now, sea salt caramel is the most popular flavor. Regular caramel is No. 2. “And actually, believe it or not, with all of the gourmet popcorn, buttery is No. 3,” Julie said. “But it’s the best buttery you’re going to have.”
Ed and Julie said they’re fans of the jalapeno cheddar. At SWFL Business Finder, our staff tried the jalapeno cheddar and really enjoyed it! It had a nice flavor with just the right amount of jalapeno and not overly spicy. We gave it a Munch Rating of 4.3 out of 5.
Ed also likes the Flaming Not Cheetos. The sour patch is one of their more unique flavors. “We put together a recipe to get that sweet and sour mix,” Ed said. “It tastes pretty much like the candies. It surprises people, though, because even though you know what it is before you put it in your mouth, you just don’t expect that to come from popcorn.”
They’re always experimenting with different flavors, too. “We listen to what customers ask for,” Julie said. “And then a lot of them we just come up with on our own.” Wild About Popcorn also contributes to a lot of community events and fundraisers.
They also provide popcorn for events like weddings and baby showers. Contact Wild About Popcorn at 239-829-0527.
This is the place to go if you want a delicious brewski
Palm City started as a hobby that turned into a passion, and became a dream come true. Ryan, owner and brewer spent countless hours brewing recipes in his garage, year over year. He entered competitions and shared his craft and love of craft beer with anyone who would listen.
One day he walked in the house to share a taste of his "Last Laugh" and his wife instantly fell in love with it! That night they started to put together a business plan to continue to spread the love of craft beer.
So here they are today, welcoming everyone from the seasoned beer drinkers, to the lovers of craft beer to the novice and "non beer drinkers" alike.
Visit the tasting room and check out their beautiful 10 Barrel brewhouse as you enjoy one of their delicious beers.
